Position Overview
We are seeking a Shopify Full-Stack Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of our Shopify-based eCommerce platform. This role focuses both front-end theme customization and back-end development, supporting high-performance, user-friendly shopping experiences. The ideal candidate will work alongside our existing development agency, coordinating efforts across multiple developers, and contributing to our custom Node.js middleware built on Google Cloud Platform.


Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize Shopify themes, ensuring responsive, high-performance user experiences.
  • Implement front-end features using Shopify’s Admin and Storefront APIs, Liquid, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate closely with our existing development agency, actively contributing to shared development efforts.
  • Manage concurrent development workflows, resolving potential conflicts in Jira ticketing, version control, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure accessibility (ADA compliance) and optimize site performance for a better user experience.
  • Implement A/B testing and CRO features, working alongside design and marketing teams to improve conversion rates.
  • Maintain best practices in version control, deployment, and Shopify development workflows.
  • Work with Google Tag Manager (GTM), server-side tracking, and analytics tools to support marketing initiatives and improve data accuracy.
  • Contribute to our custom integrations layer, built on Google Cloud Platform, to support Shopify and third-party services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of web development experience, with a strong focus on Shopify.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS.
  • Proficient in JavaScript and familiar with TypeScript.
  • Exposure to or experience with React (for future headless commerce projects).
  • Experience or interest in backend development using Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of Shopify’s Liquid templating language and Shopify Admin & Storefront APIs.
  • Experience collaborating with external development partners to execute Shopify projects.
  • Familiarity with React (optional, but a plus for future headless initiatives).
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance standards and best practices for front-end performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or a willingness to learn and work with GCP to support custom backend workflows.
